We purchased the new awning to replace the same awning that was over 30 years old (wind damage)! We are completely satisfied with our purchase. It was very easy to install over our first floor kitchen window. It took one adult and 2 teenagers to do the job. They followed the excellent directions and had no problems at all. From start to finish it took about 35 minutes. The awning is awesome! Very stylish and easy to adjust up and down. We highly recommend this awning and also General Awnings. We love our awning and it really kept the summer heat out of our bedroom windows! Installation was a little more difficult than expected and some of the parts were not as strong as my husband felt would be necessary.... but with a few stronger parts (that we purchased locally) it was up and has been open all summer. How to select your 5500 Series awning

Size Guide
For window heights up to	36"	46"	56"	66"	76"
Drop	27"	33"	39"	44"	51"
Projection	18"	24"	30"	35"	42"

Projection and drop are approximate and adjustable.

1) Choose width

If mounting on casing, measure outside width of window casing (B). For wall mount, select any desired width.
Please note that the width is measured between the hinge centers, as shown in the above diagram. The mounting bracket width is 1".
Arms cannot be mounted on shutters.
Please contact us if you need a more customized width. Custom widths are available in 1" increments.

2) Choose drop and projection

Measure window height (A).
Use the chart above to select your required drop from the drop-down menu.

3) Select the color and stripes that best complement your home.

If no stripe color is chosen, your canopy will be a solid color.
The underside of the awning and the support arms will be white.
