I really can't say enough nice things about my experience with General Awnings. I found your company on-line and after some initial correspondence we decided to have General Awnings build our roller shade. Our installation required precise measurements. I sent pictures showing the exact measurements and I was assured that this would not be any problem. We also requested samples of a few different Sunbrella fabrics and they were immediately sent to us at no charge. I live in New York state and was obviously concerned about shipping and if the unit would arrive in good condition. The unit was built and shipped as per the initial time frame I was told. When it arrived, it was in a factory built wooden crate and the roller shade and the crate were in perfect condition.

Installation could not have been any easier. All the necessary hardware was included, and it took only about an hour to install it. It was so simple, it just couldn't have been any easier! What I was most impressed by was the fact that the travel limits for the shade were set at the factory and when I initially pushed the remote control the shade worked perfectly. The overall quality of this roller shade is just excellent. The side rails and top are manufactured from high quality aluminum and they are powder coated to insure that it will maintain its new look for many years to come. Our roller shade is installed on the northwest side of our house to protect our back porch from the strong afternoon summer sunshine and from blowing rain and snow. It works perfect.

I should also mention that I initially got estimates from area awning companies. By having General Awnings build the shade and installing it myself I saved nearly $900. Thank you once again for building such an outstanding product.

Sun-Pro Roller Shade

The Sun-Pro Roller Shade is a heavy-duty roller shade/screen system that may be fitted with SunTex screen fabric or Sunbrella opaque fabric. It is designed for areas such as entrance ways, windows, patio lattice structures, stucco overhangs, and generally any opening in which the tracks can be mounted vertically. The streamlined 5" box and larger roller tube allow widths up to 25 feet and heights up to 15 feet.

The fabric is housed in an attractive 5" powder coated aluminum box that is attached to secure vertical tracks. The fabric travels up and down the tracks and is weighted by a heavy bottom bar that prevents it from blowing in the wind. The system can be stopped in any desired position and is retracted into the box when not in use.

Sunbrella® opaque (150 colors) or SunTex® mesh fabric.
PTFE Teflon® thread.
Baked-on hardware finish in white, brown or cream.
Aluminum extruded roller tube and sturdy aluminum enclosure box and bottom weight bar.
Manual crank-operated or motorized with a Somfy® tubular motor.

How to select your Sun-Pro Roller Shade

1) Make sure you have at least 7.5 inches of vertical space available for mounting the shade.

2) Select your desired width and height from the drop-down menus. Call or email us if you need a more customized width or height.

Note that there is a gap of approximately 1/2" between the fabric and the side tracks.
Note that units 17 feet wide and over need to be attached to a wall in the center.
With a SunTex fabric, roller shades over 17 ft wide can have a maximum height of 9 feet.

3) Select operation mode

Select one of the options, depending on how you prefer to operate your roller shade, manually or with a motor operated by remote control.

4) Choose operation side

Looking at the roller shade from the outside, specify the side on which you want the standard crank handle or motor.
If no selection is made, the roller shade will ship with right side operation.

5) Select hardware color

The awning hardware is available in White (RAL 9010), Brown (RAL 8019) or Cream (RAL 1015).

6) Select Sunbrella® or SunTex® fabric.

Sunbrella is an opaque acrylic woven fabric designed for outdoor use that has the look and feel of canvas. It is water repellant and available in over 150 colors and patterns.
SunTex is a unique woven mesh that can block 90-95% of the sun’s rays. It is made of strong vinyl-coated polyester and is mildew and fade resistant.
